What is Legal Aid?

Legal Aid is a non-profit organization that provides civil legal services including 
community education, assistance to victims of domestic violence, information and community referral, legal clinics, pro bono attorney referral, and pro se assistance.

Legal Aid serves residents of Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Rush, and Shelby Counties.


There is little or no cost to our services. 
About 2,000 individuals with limited resources receive legal services annually. 

Legal Aid assists victims and survivors of domestic violence with funding provided by Indiana Criminal Justice Institute

Legal Aid is part of Pro Bono Indiana, Inc 

and is otherwise known as River Valley Legal Aid.
